2016: September

29th September: CRYPTOZOOLOGY/MYSTERY CATS
The latest from the CFZ Big Cat blog. The hunt for mystery Big Cats attracts far more newspaper-column inches than any other cryptozoological subject. There are so many of them now that we feel that they should be archived by us in some way, so we should have a go at publishing a regular round-up of the stories as they come in. We also chronicle other news stories which tell of mankind's relationship with big cats.

29th September: NATURAL HISTORY/WATCHER OF THE SKIES: The latest from the CFZ Fortean bird blog. In an article for the first edition of Cryptozoology Bernard Heuvelmans wrote that cryptozoology is the study of 'unexpected animals' and following on from that perfectly reasonable assertion, it seems to us that - whereas the study of out of place birds may not have the glamour of the hunt for bigfoot, or lake monsters - it is still a perfectly valid area for the Fortean Zoologist to be interested in.

Our friend Beth does a remarkable job rescuing and rehabilitating animals and often tells us stories of her successes and her failures. And, what is particularly wonderful in these decadent days, she doesn't ask or receive a penny for what she does. I don't know why I didn't think about this years ago, but we shall be cross posting some of her animal stories from her Facebook page so her activities can reach a wider audience.
